The Clockwork Cistern is this same chain as a place you walk through. Each stage is a terminal beside a locked gate, and solving it opens the gate. The maze also hides data fragments with a bonus message you can only get there.

Your progress and score are the same either way, so you can start in one and finish in the other. If you want the maze to be a surprise, start there.

📜 Briefing
Beneath the old quarter lies a reservoir the maps forgot, a vaulted hall of pillars, pipes and slow black pools. A network of clockwork pumps still ticks down there, and someone has used it to hide messages for anyone willing to follow them.

You have come down with a notebook, a torch and a hunch that the pumps are talking. Three gates stand between you and the control room, and each one keeps a secret written in strange symbols. Read them well and the way forward will reveal itself.
